VISIT BODEGA CARREPRADO [ALBA DE CERRATO, PALENCIA]
Bodega Carreprado was born in 2021 in Alba de Cerrato, with the aim of reviving winemaking in this town in the Cerrato area, which had stopped in the 1980s. The family-run project is built around the town's underground wine cellar district, a group of more than 30 structures dug into three levels, some of them former traditional presses.
The wines are made mostly from Tempranillo grapes, hand-harvested and selected in the winery's own vineyard. Several of the winery's labels have won medals at competitions such as VinEspaña, the Frankfurt International Trophy and the Guía Peñín.

Young reds, oak-aged and 12-month aged wines; a rosé; and a Verdejo white with lees ageing, made mainly from Tempranillo. The range also includes a distinctive wine that blends Tempranillo with jerbas, a native fruit from the Cerrato area.

Experiencia altamente recomendable y muy diferenciada. Visita a un lagar y bodega tradicional, con una explicación exquisita, tanto en el relato como en la forma. Después, una visita a la bodega actual, donde explica el proceso de una manera excepcional: de la cuba a la botella, para pasar después a una cata en una carpa muy acogedora y probar, junto a los vinos, embutidos de la zona. Excepcional. Álvaro transmite muchísima pasión en lo que hace.
Una experiencia muy recomendable y diferente. Primero visitamos un lagar y bodega tradicional, donde Álvaro nos hizo una explicación cuidada al detalle, tanto en contenido como en la manera de contarla. Después pasamos a la bodega actual, donde nos mostró todo el proceso, desde la cuba hasta la botella, con una claridad brutal. Para acabar, una cata en una carpa muy acogedora, acompañada de embutidos locales y varios vinos. Se nota que Álvaro disfruta con lo que hace y consigue transmitirlo. Muy top.
