Bodega San Juan

VISIT BODEGA SAN JUAN WINERY [GRAN CANARIA]

The San Juan Winery was founded on June 11, 1912 by Don Juan Rodriguez Quegles and his wife Carmen Millan Socorro, who acquired the property from Lieutenant Manuel Marcos Benitez, a veteran of the Cuban War of Independence. Don Juan Rodríguez, of English origin, was a prominent businessman in the Canary Islands and founder of banking in the region.

During his business in Cuba, Don Juan imported the wood that was used to build the roofs of the wine press and the warehouse of the bodega, which today has been transformed into an event hall and is maintained in good condition.
Today Cristina Millán (the fifth generation) runs the winery, which consists of three presses with two presses, one of them unique in the Canary Islands.
