The Penedés Wine Route is located on the Iberian Peninsula, in the autonomous community of Catalonia, between the provinces of Barcelona and Tarragona. The Denomination of Origin that controls the wines of the area is the DO Penedés, renowned for its high quality white and sparkling wines, made mostly with the native varieties Xarel-lo, Macabeo and Parellada, in a landscape of rolling hills and Mediterranean climate.
