VISIT MANUEL VÁZQUEZ LOSADA WINERY [MONTERREI]
Manuel Vázquez Losada is a family winery in Castrelo do Val (Ourense), within DO Monterrei. Its origins go back more than a century, when the current winegrower's great-grandfather began making wine for the household. The family kept up this home production for generations until, in 2019, Manuel Vázquez turned the winery into a commercial project and brought his wines to market.
The winegrower farms 6 hectares of his own vineyards, spread across different sites in the municipality of Castrelo do Val, on clay and slate soils, in a climate of transition between Atlantic and continental influences. Godello is the main variety. It is joined by Treixadura and Dona Branca in the whites, and by Mencía, Araúxa and Sousón in the reds. Alongside its blends, the winery produces limited single-plot and single varietal editions; its Dona Branca won a Baco de Plata. In 2024 it expanded and renovated part of its facilities.
WINE TOURISM
The winery welcomes visitors by prior booking, arranged by phone, by email or through the form on its website. The tour follows the path of the wine from vine to glass and ends with a guided tasting. It is an option for visiting wineries in DO Monterrei or for a Godello and Mencía wine tasting in the Verín area, at a small grower-run winery.

La Viña, de Cerca
Seasonal visit that the winery schedules on specific dates for small groups. It starts with a walk among the vines to see the work under way in the vineyard at that time of year, continues in the winery and ends with a tasting in the vineyard itself.
