 A WINERY WITH A RICH HISTORY

Bodega Marques de Montecierzo winery is located in an emblematic century-old building in the town of Castejón, in what was once the most important flour factory in the north of the region and which was used as a prison during the Civil War and later. After the cessation of its activity as a flour mill, and its subsequent disuse-abandonment, the building was acquired and refurbished by the Lozano-Melero family. Today, the building (listed as local heritage and with the highest concentration of white storks in the area) is used to produce wines aged in new French and American oak barrels.

As an example, the wines of its brand EMERGENTE and MONTECIERZO have been awarded by the D.O. Navarra as the best wines for years; some of them, such as the rosé, have been awarded consecutively (2017 and 2018, as well as in 2019 by the Cofradía del Vino de Navarra or the International Championship Rosé as ""Best Value"").

In reds, our MONTECIERZO 100% merlot awarded in 2018 as best red with wood by the Appellation of origin Navarra, as well as by the Peñín Guide or our EMERGENTE crianza (tempranillo - garnacha) with 90 Decanter points, and awarded by Mundus Vini as well as podium in awards by the Appellation of origin or our Garnacha Selección Vino de Autor with Decanter medal.

All this makes this family winery one of the most renowned in Navarra in recent times, including signature wines such as Garnacha or Oak and Reserva, as well as whites (Chardonnay (91 points Appellation of origin Navarra) and Muscatel) or our homemade vermouth, the first vermouth in Navarra.
