VISIT BODEGAS MARTÚE | PAGO CAMPO DE LA GUARDIA [TOLEDO]
Bodegas Martúe is located in La Guardia, Toledo, just 80 km from Madrid, in one of the most distinctive wine-growing areas of Castilla-La Mancha. The winery was founded by Fausto González, who in 1990 began planting the first vineyards on Finca Campo Martuela, convinced that this land could produce top-level wines. Winemaking started in 2000 and the winery opened in 2002. The effort was recognised in 2009 when Martúe obtained the Vino de Pago Campo de La Guardia classification, making it one of the thirteen wineries in Spain to hold this distinction — the highest category recognised by Spanish wine legislation.
The winery works 87 hectares of its own vineyards across two estates: Campo Martuela, planted with Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Syrah; and El Casar, where Malbec and Chardonnay are also grown. The facilities include an ageing cellar 7 metres underground, with over 1,000 French and American oak barrels, and a winery designed to produce up to 350,000 bottles per year. During visits, guests can taste wines from the group's three wineries.
WINE TOURISM
Bodegas Martúe welcomes visitors every day for private groups and open groups on Saturdays at 11:30. Visits include a guided tour of the vineyards and facilities, culminating in a commented tasting of three wines — one white from Rueda and two Pago reds — with aperitif included. The Martúe group also has an Activities Department to organise personalised experiences: private tastings, blind tastings, group lunches, corporate events and celebrations. A perfect getaway for those seeking wine tourism in Toledo near Madrid, at one of the few Vino de Pago wineries in Spain open to the public.

The Activities Department at Bodegas Martúe organises personalised group experiences: private tastings, blind tastings, corporate meetings, group lunches, celebrations and weddings. Wine types
Reds and whites under the Vino de Pago Campo de La Guardia classification from Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Chardonnay, with a range spanning from the unoaked Martúe to the Martúe Especial — a selection of old vines with 12 months ageing in French and American oak — and the single varietal Syrah and Chardonnay.
