VISIT BODEGAS SAN ESTEBAN [MURILLO DE RÍO LEZA]
Bodegas San Esteban, founded in 1953 by 16 partners, is the first wine cooperative in La Rioja. Located in Murillo de Río Leza, in the Leza and Jubera valleys, its vineyards are spread across different altitudes in the valley, which brings diversity and personality to its wines.
The winery combines tradition and innovation, producing fresh young wines, full-bodied reds and whites, as well as internationally acclaimed barrel-aged wines. Its creative spirit is reflected in the Kairos range, which breaks with the rules established by the DOCa Rioja, showing a willingness to experiment without losing its identity.
The vineyards are cultivated with dedication and under strict technical supervision, ensuring grapes at their optimum point of ripeness and total control of the production process. The main varieties are Tempranillo, Viura, Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano, reflecting the richness of the Rioja terroir.
WINE TOURISM
The wine tourism experiences combine landscape, vineyards, history, and wine tasting in an intimate and educational tour that allows visitors to discover the essence of Murillo de Río Leza and its wines.
Experience Visit and Tasting
Guided tour of the vineyard, the old winery, and the modern facilities, ending with a tasting of wines and typical local products.
Includes:
- La Cobacha viewpoint and views of the Jubera and Leza river valleys
- Tour of the vineyards*, old and new facilities
- Visit to the production room and the barrel room
- Tasting of 4 wines (one chosen by visitors)
- Small snack with typical local products
*Visit to the vineyard, weather permitting
Duration: 2–2.5 hours
Options for groups (minimum 10 people) include personalized tours with the option of lunch.
