5. Bodega Paco & Lola
Paco & Lola was founded in 2005 thanks to the initiative of a group of winegrowers and winemakers from the O Salnés region who decided to take a step forward and professionalize their activity. The winery has 220 hectares of its own vineyards, distributed over more than 2,000 small plots, reflecting the traditional Galician smallholding, all located in the Val do Salnés subzone.

What kind of wine is Rías Baixas?
Rías Baixas is a Designation of Origin (DO) in Galicia, on Spain's Atlantic coast. Most of its production is white wine made from Albariño, the region's main grape, sometimes blended with other native white varieties such as Treixadura, Loureira or Caíño Blanco. Smaller amounts of red and sparkling wine are also made: Eidosela was the first winery in Galicia to produce sparkling wine.
What does Rías Baixas mean and how do you pronounce it?
Rías Baixas is Galician for "lower estuaries”, the name given to the sea inlets along the southwest coast of Galicia, where the vineyards of the DO are concentrated. It is pronounced roughly "REE-as BYE-shas”.
What are the subzones of Rías Baixas?
The DO is divided into five subzones: Val do Salnés, Condado do Tea, O Rosal, Soutomaior and Ribeira do Ulla. In this selection, Granbazán, Vionta, Santiago Roma and Paco & Lola are in the Val do Salnés, and Eidosela is in Arbo, in the Condado do Tea, by the river Miño.
