VISIT BODEGAS VAL DA LENDA WINERY IN RIBEIRA SACRA
In the south of the province of Lugo, in inland Galicia, is the small wine-growing region of Amandi, within the Apellation of Origin Ribeira Sacra. Our vineyards occupy the steep slopes of the river Sil where, on small and difficult to access terraces, we develop winegrowing that is rightly described as heroic.
The price of the visit is 10€ per person.
HEROIC VITICULTURE AND THE MENCÍA GRAPE VARIETY THE CORE OF OUR WINES
In these soils there is no uniformity, except in their common acid reaction and good fertility, red varieties predominate, among which the excellent Mencía stands out, the true cornerstone of our winegrowing.
FAMILY WINERY IN AMANDI
The production of our wine goes back several generations, but with its legalisation in 1991 our small family winery became one of the pioneers of the Apellation of Origin.
We make Val da Lenda from grapes of the Mencía variety from our own vineyards located in Amandi. We are currently replanting old plots, in order to have half a hectare more of vineyard for the next harvest, to achieve a production of 20,000 litres of our own harvest.
