VISIT BODEGAS VIRGEN DE LA VEGA [HARO]

Bodegas Virgen de la Vega is a cooperative made up of around 300 winegrowing families who share a common understanding of wine and the land: to produce Rioja wines that are faithful to their origins. From the vineyard to the winery, it is the members themselves who tend each plot and participate in the entire production process.

Located in Rioja Alta, the winery works with its own vineyards situated at an average altitude of around 700 meters, in the Haro region. A wine-growing landscape that shapes the character of wines designed to accompany everyday life, celebrations, and shared moments.

Founded in 1965, the winery has evolved steadily to become a modern and functional 18,000 m² facility, where today nearly four million liters of wine are produced each year, maintaining the link with the land and collective work as the central axis of its philosophy.

The winery's vineyards cover 850 hectares and are planted with Tempranillo and Viura, the traditional varieties of the D.O.Ca. Rioja, grown in one of the northernmost areas of the appellation.

The winery offers wine tourism experiences aimed at providing first-hand knowledge of the high-altitude vineyards of Rioja Alta and the wine-making process, with a friendly and educational approach.
