Bodegas Tavera, a family winery since 1917
Our history is deeply connected to the terroir of Méntrida. 
In 1917, the first winery was built, laying the foundations for a passion that has evolved over more than a century.

The first steps were taken in an underground cellar in the 18th-century family home, where grapes were transformed into wine and stored in clay jars, an ancient technique to ensure their preservation in the face of high summer temperatures.

The year 2005 marked a qualitative leap in the structure of Bodegas Tavera. Driven by a vision of total control over the product, the winery was expanded and modernized to become a comprehensive facility
: it no longer just produced, but also aged, bottled, and marketed its own products. This milestone laid the foundations for end-to-end quality control, focusing on in-house production and exhaustive control of the vineyards, securing Bodegas Tavera's position within the Méntrida and Tierra de Castilla PDOs.

In 2024, Bodegas Tavera began its most ambitious chapter under new management and renewed strategic investment. We have taken the rich legacy of 107 years and merged it with a modern, sustainable, and experience-oriented vision.
