Vinícola del Carmen is the result of the merger, in the late 1980s, of two historic wineries in Campo de Criptana: Sociedad Vinícola Manchega, founded in 1896, and Vinícola del Carmen, established in 1901. This union gave rise to one of the oldest wine cooperatives in Castilla-La Mancha and one of the most experienced in Spain.
The winery, which was created on the initiative of a small group of partners, now has more than 620 cooperative members and a production that ranges between 25 and 30 million kilos of grapes per season.
Its main varieties are Airén, for white wine, and Tempranillo, for red wine, both representative of the vineyards of La Mancha. Vinícola del Carmen currently markets a wide range of wines under different brands: Cardenio, Carmen (lightly carbonated and semi-sweet sparkling wines), D’Gigantes (Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla), Albaicín (whites with La Mancha Designation of Origin), Infanto (reds with La Mancha Designation of Origin), Alfaraz (sparkling wines), Moriscote (vermouth), and La Manchega (mistela), reflecting the diversity and richness of its wine production.
Our winery, with more than a century of tradition, opens its doors to you so you can experience wine from the inside.
We have designed an experience to immerse you completely in the magic of La Mancha wine. From the walk through the vineyards to the silence of the barrel room, every corner of the winery will connect you with the soul of wine.
