Finca la Estacada wine tourism complex has its origins in an old farm, owned by the descendants of Queen Maria Cristina, widow of Ferdinand VII, and acquired by the current owners, the Cantarero Rodríguez family, in the mid-20th century.
It takes its name from the land on which it is located, called La Estacada, a name of Roman origin, as the road that linked Segóbriga with Complutum (nowadays Álcala de Henares) was located here, as evidenced by the milestones found, a replica of which can be seen in the winery itself.
Founded in 2001, the bodega, located on a plot of land called La Estacada, is the result of the enthusiasm of the Cantarero Rodríguez family, a family name with a long history in the world of winemaking, whose aim since then has been to get the best out of their vineyards to produce wines of great richness and quality.
Under the main building is the ageing hall with a capacity to house 3,000 French and American oak barrels, in which our wines remain for the necessary time before being bottled. The fact that the barrel room is underground allows us to maintain a constant temperature and humidity throughout the year, which guarantees optimum ageing of the wines.
In the upper part of the winery, we find the bottling area and tanks. In the bottling line, the wines are filled and corked and left to rest in the bottle racks, with the aim of ensuring that the aspects acquired in the barrel are blended with the fruity characters.
