VISIT WINERY MENTOSTE [RIOJA] 

Bodegas Mentoste is located in the heart of the old quarter of Briñas, a small municipality in La Rioja Alta with centuries of winegrowing history. The winery is a family project — today in the hands of the Domínguez family — whose approach to wine rests on three pillars passed down through generations: heritage, craftsmanship and warmth. All the grapes entering the winery come from their own production, with vineyards tended by the family themselves. The harvest is carried out manually and selectively, and the musts are worked by treading inside the lakes, as was done in the past. It is this respect for traditional methods that defines the character of their wines.

Their range covers three labels: the young Vendigorna, with fresh aromas and vanilla notes and an intense palate; the Mentoste Crianza, with powerful Tempranillo and liquorice notes, harmonious and flavourful; and the Mentoste Reserva, the longest-aged reference in the house.

Visits to Bodegas Mentoste offer a first-hand look at the spaces where each bottle is born, from the vineyard to the barrel room. The format is informal and straightforward: visitors access a family winery that makes wine the same way it did decades ago, with minimal intervention and maximum respect for the surroundings. Two options are available, with the possibility of booking a morning or afternoon slot depending on availability.
