Javier Sanz Viticultor is a fifth generation family winery, located in the Rueda Appellation of Origin, specifically, in the municipality of La Seca, cradle and heart of Verdejo. The winery has more than 150 years of history since the great-grandparents of the current owner, Javier Sanz, were already dedicated to making and selling wine in bulk from the old family winery.
Now, the winery is in the process of building new facilities on the outskirts of the municipality, a larger and more sustainable building that allows the work processes to be much more environmentally friendly. The winery has 104 hectares of vineyards of its own, which allows to control at all times the vegetative cycle and the development of the vines to check that everything is going as desired at all times. The research and genetic recovery of several little-known or almost extinct grape varieties is one of the winery's main hallmarks. However, its three main values are the family, the land and the love they put into the care of their vineyards and the elaboration of their wines.
Javier Sanz Viticultor has recovered the 18th century church Orden Tercera, a wonderful architectural space, destined to host the wine tastings after the visit to the vineyard, as well as the celebration of different events.
